Chris Lancaster first began acting in the 6th grade while doing skits for his classmates and performed in his first school play. Mostly spending his time in Athletics, Chris was drawn back to the theatre during his Senior year of High School performing as 'Nathan Detroit' in the musical "Guy's and Doll's".
After enrolling at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, Chris earned a Dramatic Arts scholarship his sophmore year, and performed in several theatrical productions, both in college, and around local Wilmington theatres. In 1989, after graduating, Chris spent 9 months teaching Drama to Elementary school children and was named North Carolina's Man of the Year Runner-Up. After a successful audition with the prestigious Stella Adler Acting Conservatory in Hollywood, Chris then moved to Los Angeles. With only about $600 in his pocket, he lived aboard a 24 foot sailboat in Marina Del Rey, and began taking such jobs as diet counselor, rental car clerk, beauty supply packer, etc. to pay the bills. Chris eventually landed a part in a USC student film. A local commercial for LA County Libraries followed, as well as a role in the LA Guerilla Theatre's play "The Last Meeting". Although his reviews were favorable, the play sank fast. Not losing focus, Chris eventually was cast in a Grove Playhouse production of Agatha Christie's "The Unexpected Guest". He followed that with the lead role in a Seattle Repertory written play "Inspecting Carol".
After such TV roles as a bartender on "Renegade" and a cop on "Darkman", Chris got the chance to play Minor Leaguer 'Matt Crew' in a pilot show about baseball. Filmed in Minnesota, the show never materialized and he then traveled to Las Vegas and performed in the Indie film "14 Million Ways". As a tatooed, long-haired motorcyclist, Chris rode that role into another Indie film entitled "Acapulco Lake". Centering around three high school buddies that reunite every year to surf, Chris played the sentimental favorite 'Sunny'. His character was unsuccessful in life after being a high school standout. Although the film was not distributed, Chris showed a range from comedy to extreme drama. With a resume beginning to build up, he set his sights on television and feature films.
Chris is also an avid writer and artist. He has written 3 screenplays, several short stories, and has had 2 poems published . His artistic talents have been seen in such diverse places as bars, tanning salons, and even a children's nursery. Chris lives in Studio City, CA.
